FARIA VIRIATO
The Artist was born in Lisbon in 1978, lived her childhood and youth in Cascais.
Her passion for Art History started before joining the IADE - Creative University, where she graduated in Graphic Design. In parallel, she attended A.R.C.O. School of Arts in Lisbon, where she studied Photography, Illustration, Design, Model Drawing and Painting.
Since then she has traveled the world, especially Africa, North and South America as destinations of choice. These trips have sharpened her aesthetic curiosity about how different people make themselves known.
Gradually her role as a Designer started to be replaced by Art for the last four years, when she moved to the northeast of Brazil, living two years in Salvador da Bahia and later changing to Fortaleza, Ceará.
Influenced by the energy of Latin America, she initiated a study of local identities, through the portrait practice. Later she worked in Photography, Painting and Assemblages.
She currently lives between Lisbon, Portugal and Fortaleza, Brazil.
