Basel is called the Switzerland Capital of Culture and Art, has nearly 40 Museums and hosts two very important international fairs: Art Basel, the world's most famous international art fair, with nearly 90.000 Art lovers; and Baselworld – The Watch and Jewellery Show.

1 – Custom Swiss Administration Site for “Works of art and exhibition objects”: works created by artists and brought by the Artists themselves, can be imported duty-free. Objects for galleries and auctions, for sales exhibitions by gallerists and for auctions can be declared using the temporary admission procedure.
2 – Simulator for custom duties and other charges, normally VAT, provides also the tariff number and relevant information, selecting the country of origin.
3 – Swiss Precious Metal Control for Jewel Designers, note Precious Metals items must bear two marks: the mark for a standard of fineness and a responsibility mark (RM) registered at the Central Office for Precious Metals Control.
